Framed Rolling Stones Poster

‘Lips’ framed and mounted iconic poster created for the Rolling Stones and signed by the original artist of this piece, John Pashe.

John Pasche is the graphic designer who created the iconic "Tongue and Lips" logo for The Rolling Stones in 1970. The logo, featuring a bright red, protruding tongue and lips, has become synonymous with the band and is one of the most recognizable logos in music history

 Design
Pasche created the logo while a student at the Royal College of Art in London. He was commissioned by Mick Jagger after Jagger saw his designs.

Inspiration
While often thought to be inspired by Jagger's lips, Pasche has stated that it was not directly based on Jagger's mouth. He was inspired by the Hindu goddess Kali, who has a prominent, red tongue.

Impact
The logo first appeared on the 1971 album Sticky Fingers and has been used on every Rolling Stones album since, as well as on merchandise and stage sets.

Recognition
Pasche's work has been widely recognized, and the original artwork for the logo is held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Legacy
Pasche's design is considered a timeless classic and continues to influence graphic design and popular culture. He has also worked on other projects for The Rolling Stones, including tour posters and promotional materials.
