Meet Alex - The Founder of Bacchus Concierge
Meet the man who knows his wine… Alexander de Valle Fill your glass with your favourite tipple, sit back and relax, while we find out more about Alexander de Valle – the man behind Bacchus Concierge. With over a decade of experience in the wine trade, including as a fine wine sales manager at one of the nation’s leading wine suppliers, you would have expected Alexander to have always been involved in the trade. However, his background is one full of variety, with notable stints in Her Majesty’s police force and the British Army, where a tour of Afghanistan saw Alexander posted to Helmand over a 6-month period from 2012.
In fact, it was a chance invitation to a wine tasting that piqued his interest and led Alexander to pursue a career in the fascinating world of fine wine. Developing his passion, knowledge and experience in key roles with prominent wine suppliers, Alexander has put his exceptional palate and his natural ability to build relationships with others to use. Well respected by those throughout the wine industry,
Alexander’s affable personality has allowed him to connect and associate with some of the most admired vineyards and wine producers around the world.
Passionate in talking to others about fine wine, Alexander put some unexpected free time (resulting from furlough during the Covid-19 pandemic) to good use, launching Bacchus Concierge in the summer of 2020. Designed to give clients something a little different from the norm, Bacchus Concierge set out to offer a service for those who are unsure about their wine preference but want help to seek the best value for their wine taste.
From monthly subscriptions starting from as little as £100 per month, to bespoke services designed to help those looking for fine and rare wines from around the globe, Alexander’s knowledge and contacts, along with Bacchus Concierge’s independent status make this very much possible.
So, for someone who has such a passion for fine wine, what is Alexander’s favourite tipple? Well, like choosing your favourite child, it would be too difficult to choose just one, so Alexander has four:
Ø Chateau de la Tour Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes 1998 – A delicate red hailing from one of the most famous Grand Cru red wine-producing regions of Burgundy.
Ø La Cassetta Valpolicella Ripasso – Fantastically full bodied, this wine combines layers of dried fruit for an intense and flavourful drink – delicious!
Ø Pieropan Soave Classico 2019 – The first estate to make single-vineyard Soave, the Pieropan estate have achieved a fresh, expressive wine with notes of white flowers and marzipan, with hints of pastry on the finish.
Ø Kings Favour, Sauvignon Blanc 2019 – Great value with tropical notes that urge you to pour another glass. One of New Zealand’s best.

From 4th - 6th September, 2022, the Concours of Elegance welcomes 70 extraordinary cars into the former home of Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace, for a special celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the event’s 10th anniversary year. Over the course of three days these 70 cars will be joined by nearly 1,000 other luxury and performance cars of all ages, as well as a line-up of the world’s most sought-after brands for a celebration of fine craftsmanship, design and innovation throughout the ages.
